Our local Gambrill State Park is part of the Catoctin mountain range and offers a historic overlook that is home to our annual Brewhouse Rarities pitch session.
Each July, the entire brewery gathers and teams of our staff — from production to accounting to sales and marketing — pitch their ideas for the next year’s lineup. Pitches range from unearthing ancient beer styles to experimenting with new and innovative ingredients.
Our brew team evaluates each pitch and then has the challenging task of choosing the next year’s releases. There were 40 beers pitched for 2014 and the chosen ones are:
- Mango Habanero IPA
- Mint Chocolate Stout
- Ginger Beer
- Agave Lager
- Lemongrass Rice Ale
- Hoppy American Wheat
- Honey Ale
- Dopplebock
Details on each release coming soon. For now, fight the anxiety with our remaining 2013 Brewhouse Rarities, which include Roggen, Orchard Ale, Vineyard Blonde, and Cinnamon Porter.
