Wolverine State Brewing Collaborates w/RoosRoast Coffee on “The Barista” Coming 1/31

Frimageom Wolverine State Brewing:

Wolverine State Brewing is collaborating with RoosRoast Coffee to create a unique, coffee-infused lager: The Barista. The Barista brings two of Ann Arbor’s new and successful businesses together for the project for the first time.

By adding a cold extraction of a RoosRoast’s Columbian dark roast, the brewers at Wolverine have created a bold, brown brew in a unique style.

“It’s not a coffee porter, or stout, or anything that beer drinkers expect from a ‘coffee beer,’ “ Wolverine Brewer Karl Hinbern states. “We created a layered malt base so we can display John’s fantastic Columbian coffee up front and center.” It will have an ABV of 6.4 % and will release on Thursday, January 31, 2013 with a coffee/beer party in the Wolverine Tap Room at 2019 W. Stadium, Ann Arbor.

John Roos, owner of RoosRoast, worked with Wolverine to fine tune the final extraction this week. “I can’t wait to taste this,” he stated. “I normally drop a shot glass of espresso into my beer, so this collaboration will be much more pleasant."

Roos will be on hand that Thursday to celebrate the draft release of The Barista, with an espresso machine in case you want one of those after your beer. Half-pound packages of the Columbian dark roast coffee used in The Barista will also be available for purchase in the Tap Room.
