We brought you some limited details on Tuesday from our pal Spike Buckowski @ Terrapin Beer relative to their 2013 brewing schedule and the addition of the new brewhouse and canned beer. Now today we get the full details from Spike:
Athens, GA- January 22, 2013/mbb/

013 is set to be a big year for Athens, GA-based brewery Terrapin Beer Co. The installation of a new 100 BBL brewhouse is completed and the brew schedule is bursting with 24 beers in the works. Among these 24 are a few new appearances along with some new packaging options on both new and current brands. Here's a look at what's coming up in the next few months.
Hopsecutioner
Hopsectioner, Terrapin's year-round IPA boasting 7.3% ABV and 71 IBU, has already become one the most-loved beers the company brews. As it's always better to have more of a good thing, beginning in February Hopsecutioner will be available in a 12-pack carton in addition to the already-available 6-packs and kegs. Nothing else will change in this Killer IPA; there will just be more to pass around!
Hop Karma
Do good, and good will flow back to you. Hop Karma returns as the first Seasonal Sessions beer of 2013 and is expected to hit shelves in February.
This hoppy brown ale brings together the best of west coast style IPA and complex malty brown ale. Peace, Love and Hoppiness... it that so much to ask? Five varieties of hops and seven malts come together to say yes, you can have it all.
Hopzilla
March bring the first Monster Beer Tour invasion of the year with Hopzilla! This big double IPA got a lot of attention last year, but not just because at 110 IBU it's a hop lover's dream come true. Some say it's the 100% Maris Otter malt that really steals the show. Drinkability is high with this supremely balanced brew, but it still packs a punch for even the most discerning Hophead.
Side Project 19: Mosaic
When many parts become one, a masterpiece is brewed. The 19th installment in our Side Project series of improvisational brews will feature one of the newest hop offerings from Hop Union, LLC. Mosaic, previously known as HBC 369, promises to offer a bitterness and aroma profile never before accomplished with other hop blends. At 6.6% ABV and brewed with Spike's signature rye, all the pieces come together to create a lovely canvas of hoppy goodness. Look for this three-dimensional brew in March.
New Year-Round Beer: Tree Hugger
The newest addition to Terrapin's year-round line-up is Tree Hugger. This malt-centric session ale, originally a special draft-only release for the 2012 Decatur Green Fest and our friends at Dogwood Alliance, was so universally adored that we decided to bring it on full time! With a mild herbal spice hop aroma and a malt-centric flavor profile featuring notes of caramel, toffee, and nuts, this sessionable beer will be a welcome compliment to Terrapin's current hop-forward roster. Look for kegs in March and 6-packs in April.
Twilight Road Warrior Kolsch
In celebration of Terrapin Twilight Weekend (April 26-27), Terrapin will once again brew Road Warrior Kolsch. This German-style refresher will be available on draft only in the Athens area around the beginning of March and leading up to the Twilight Criterium. This wonderfully refreshing and spicy beer is brewed specifically to be the perfect beverage at the Terrapin Corner on turn two while you watch the race!
New Year-Round Beer in Cans: RecreationAle
A new year-round beer takes a new form. Just in time to hit the great outdoors comes RecreationAle. However, this release will take a new shape for Terrapin Beer Co. For the first time ever, Terrapin will be offering a beer in 12 oz. cans. This refreshing brew will be a hoppy, yet still sessionable, ale perfect for any favorite outdoor activity. Whether it's the rivers and trails that call or just the hammock in the backyard, there will be a Terrapin beer to get recreational with starting in May.
New Seasonal Sessions Beer: Maggie's Peach Farmhouse Ale
It's been a while since we've heard from Maggie and her farmhouse, but this May both will return in Seasonal Session form... but with a twist. Maggie's Peach Farmhouse Ale highlights the fruit so well-loved during Southern summers. A perfect balance of sweet and sour makes this beer the ideal palate-cleanser for those sweltering summer days.
Special Release: Dos Cocoas
To honor the 2012 Presidential election, we offered our fans a chance to make their voices heard by voting for their favorite retired Terrapin beer to be brought back and brewed again this year! The votes were tallied and Dos Cocoas came out on top! Originally brewed in 2009, this beer was the fourth beer to be brewed under the Side Project label. The 5.8% ABV chocolate porter, prized for its unique cocoa bitterness and rich chocolate aroma, will once again grace our glasses this April thanks to the good taste of Terrapin's voting public!
