Our very own St Mary’s, PA Straub Brewery surprised even me tonight by releasing a special Feb 2, 2012 Groundhog Day beer.  This Amber Lager will be released in 12oz bottles just in time for Punxsutawney Phil.

    Straub also put out a special Groundhog's Day beer about a decade ago, IIRC- that one was just "Straub Light" with a different label.

    Its not Straub Light. Its different. Amber colored like a Yeungling. Its pretty good easy drinking taste.

    not much aroma,not much taste,slight bready finish. buy most of all it is devoid of carbonation...FLAT

    Finally after 140 years of tradition, the changing of the guard at Straub brewery is starting to experiment a little, with great results. First the 1872 beer came out with multiple hops combinations, and now with this year's Groundhog brew, an interesting 'alt'. i will always love this brewery and its beers.
