Saint Arnold Endeavour IPA2 Coming 2/29

Looks like the guys at Saint Arnold Brewing have been bust brewing Endeavour IPA2…which I assume is a double IPA.  Look for Endeavour in 22oz bottles and it will use Simcoe, Centennial & Columbus hops.

Here’s the press release for the 2/29 debut:

(Houston, TX) – Saint Arnold Brewing Company (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, today announced plans for its upcoming launch of Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA (India Pale Ale), which will be available year-round. Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA will be released in 22-ounce bombers &on draft beginning February 29th.

The beer’s name, first suggested by a NASA astronaut, was selected by the craft beer community who voted to name it after the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which in turn was named after Captain James Cook’s ship that explored the Pacific. Captain Cook’s ship was a bark, similar to ELISSA, Texas’ tall ship moored in Galveston and the namesake of Saint Arnold Elissa IPA.

“Even though Endeavour registers 78 IBUs, the hop bitter always maintains a balance – starting low before building to a pleasant crescendo,” said Saint Arnold Founder/Brewer Brock Wagner. “When we released this as Divine Reserve No. 11 last year, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Plus, we enjoyed drinking it. It is amazing to me that 15 years ago, we would have struggled to sell three cases of this beer, but the public is clamoring for it today.”

West coast brewers are credited with developing the double IPA style relatively recently to satisfy fans of intense hop flavors and to pay tribute to historical IPAs. Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA uses Simcoe, Columbus and Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest, resulting in a very citrusy, hoppy beer.

St Arnold Endeavour Double IPA is best enjoyed at 45 degrees or even a little warmer. It has original gravity of 1.078 degrees Plato, final gravity of 1.016 and 8.9 percent alcohol by volume. Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA is priced at approximately $5.99 per 22-ounce bomber and will be available at stores, restaurants and bars throughout Texas and Louisiana.

To celebrate the launch on February 29th, Saint Arnold will turn its parking lot into an outdoor theater for a screening of the movie, “Spaceballs.” Admission is $15 and check in will open at 6:00 p.m. and close promptly at 6:45 p.m. Reservations are necessary and can be made online at http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=fhrfcudab&oeidk=a07e5lm1fzj105ce868. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs and food, and to dress appropriately for the weather.

Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA is the first recipe from the Saint Arnold Divine Reserve series to join the brewery’s year-round lineup. Its addition brings the total number of Saint Arnold beers to 13, seven of which are available all year and six of which are seasonal.
