Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Dogfish Head 2024 World Wide Stout Affogato (Review)

I should admit up front that I just spent 2-weeks sipping the regular version of this beer on the beach, so of course it is already one of my favorites. I’m also a big fan of this beer, and I can even remember fighting through the mosh pit that formed when our pal Sam Calagione poured it for the first time at a beer festival.

I’m talking about Dogfish Head World Wide Stout Affogato and I think you’ll see that this beer takes a great beer and makes it even better. I just brought you the news of this and other fall beers from DFH, and I’m excited to get to sample this just a few days later. World Wide Stout Affogato will be a Limited Release variant of World Wide Stout that has notes of espresso and sweet vanilla. At 15%-AbV, this beer will only be available in select markets, but I’m here to tell you it’s worth the effort to find and buy some.

Dogfish Head 2024 World Wide Stout Affogato

Brewery Description:

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is a dark, rich and roasty Imperial Stout. This year’s iteration, Affogato World Wide Stout (15% ABV), takes this beloved beer to the next level, with added notes of espresso and sweet vanilla for a liquid version of the well-known Italian treat. This ageable ale is made with a blend of 7 different grains and then infused with loads of locally roasted coffee and sweet vanilla.

IBU: 60

Appearance:  Deep brown black
Aroma: Coffee, vanilla and espresso
Mouthfeel:   Full Bodied
Taste: Coffee, vanilla, cocoa and a bit boozy
Overall: World Wide Stout has to be one of my all-time favorite beers, and whether it is the fond memories of my first pour or the fact that it’s just an amazing beer, I just really love it. Overall the mix of cocoa, coffee and vanilla really works for me, and I know it will work for you too.
