Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights The Dailygood Trash Bags By Revolution (Review)

Today we’re going to be test-driving something that most of us, me included, use on a daily basis. It’s also an item that I think most of us take for granted and rarely even think about. I’m talking about trash bags, but before you think you know everything there is to know about trash bags, stay tuned as I tell you why these are different (and better).

I’m talking about Dailygood Bags, and they come from a company called Revolution. If you’re not familiar, Revolution has been “setting the standard in sustainable loop, high-performance plastic solutions for over 25 years.” I’m also excited to say that Revolution diverts over 300 million pounds of plastic waste from landfills every year.

Just a few weeks ago, Revolution launched the Dailygood Bags that we’ll be test-driving today, and here are some details courtesy of Revolution:

Dailygood Bags are stronger than the industry average consumer bag because they were originally designed for commercial use, which makes them heavier duty and more durable to ensure the bag will hold up to everyday wear and tear without ripping. The bags are tested to hold up to 90 lbs. The convenient drawstring closure allows for easier removal and disposal and ensures a better fit on standard household trash can sizes.

“PCR trash bags from Revolution have been used by global businesses including stadiums, airports, universities, restaurants and hospitals for over a decade to help keep their facilities clean while also achieving their ESG/sustainability goals, and now we are making the same commercial quality bags available for the home with Dailygood Bags,” said Sean Whiteley, CEO of Revolution.  “We are proud to offer the most eco-friendly trash bags on the market and that consumers now have easy access to the most sustainable trash bag options available.”

The products, made in America at local Revolution facilities, have received third-party certification by SCS Global Services, verifying the quality and consistency of its recycled materials.  Revolution also had SCS conduct an independent Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to measure the specific environmental impact of the bags. Results included:

  • Production and use of Revolution’s Dailygood trash bags made with at least 70% post-consumer recycled content result in lower environmental impacts across the board when compared to trash bags made without recycled content, including:
    • 53% less depletion of non-renewable energy resources/fossil fuels such as crude oil
    • Global climate change emissions lowered by 37%.
    • Decreased human exposure to ground level ozone and fine particulate matter such as smog (31% reduction) and soot (50% reduction).
    • Reduces impacts to regional acidification (12% reduction), ocean warming (31% reduction) and ocean acidification (51% reduction).

As a family that works very hard to minimize our footprint on the environment, I can tell you that we generate almost NO garbage. Because of our combination of recycling and composting, we not only avoid filling landfills unnecessarily, but we also try to reuse and recycle anything we can.

With all of that said, I can tell you we’ve never really thought about the garbage bags we’re currently using. We’ve tried compostable garbage bags, but the sizes are too small for the amount of compost we generate. This is where Dailygood Bags come in.

The Dailygood Bags come in two sizes (13 gallon tall kitchen drawstring and 30 gallon large drawstring) so they are perfect for our kitchen garbage and even better for our larger garage bins. The bags are available at http://dailygoodbags.com and Amazon.com and they even offer a subscription service so you never run out. The bags cost about $11 for twenty tall kitchen bags and even less if you subscribe so they are comparable to normal garbage bags, but better.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights The Dailygood Trash Bags By Revolution (Review)

The main advantage of the Dailygood Bags is that they are up to 94-97% recycled and they contain zero new plastic material. According to Revolution, Dailygood bags will use 53% less fossil fuels, 50% less soot, 31% less smog, 37% less greenhouse gas emissions and 31% less ocean warming and acidification; but just knowing that our recycled plastics are going to this sort of use just makes them even more attractive. The bags also are certified eco-friendly and locally made….so of course I can’t wait to try them.

We added a Dailygood Bags tall kitchen bag and started our normal week of kitchen garage. Coincidentally, we were also working on cleaning out our old garage at the time, so the large trash bags came at the right time. The kitchen bags have the drawstrings that we’re all used to, but they actually feel like they fit our kitchen garbage can better than our normal bags. The larger bags are also very similar in appearance than our standard garbage bags, but I can say that they are as strong or stronger than anything we’ve been using in the past. The large Dailygood Bags easily held way more garbage from our garage cleanout than a normal bag, and I can say that I pushed in everything from sharp aluminum tracks to large chunks of drywall and everything in between. In one bag, we even had rusty nails and smashed glass, and in all cases, the Dailygood Bags held strong and didn’t tear or perforate…in fact one filled bag was so heavy I could barely lift it and it still didn’t tear.

The Kitchen bags not only easily held a weeks worth of kitchen garbage, but we also pushed them through a second week of garbage and they still had no issues. The bags are sturdy and easy to use and it felt good using them knowing that they are recycled plastic and part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

The Dailygood Bags Product Specs

  • Dimensions: 24″ x 27″, 30″ x 33″
  • Thickness: 1.1 millimeters, 1.2 millimeters

Overall I’d say we had a really good experience with Dailygood Bags and I’m confident that they are as good or better than the previous bags we’ve been using AND as a bonus they are extremely environmentally friendly. The bags work well, they are tough and durable and the price is comparable to normal garbage bags. The Kitchen bags worked perfectly and fit our containers even better than the store-bought bags, and the large bags really made our garage project go quickly with no split bags and no overstuffed bag issues.

Be sure to get out there and try Dailygood Bags for yourself, better yet, subscribe and save…and if you act quickly, Dailygood Bags currently has a free shipping code displaying on their website. And when you do try the Dailygood Bags, be sure to let us know what YOU thinkzzubreebym
