Just a week or two ago I brought you the news about today’s beer, and I knew when I read the press release, that I’d love this beer. If you do the math…I love a good milk stout, I love nitro beers, I love the brewery that makes this beer and the baker in me, loves all things cinnamon.
If you haven’t guess by now (or read the title of this post), I’m talking about Firestone Walker Brewing and another great stout created by our pal Matt Brynildson. The beer is called Cinnamon Dolce Nitro Stout and it will be a seasonal release infused with cured Madagascar vanilla beans from Cook Flavorings, artisan cocoa nibs from Chocolate Alchemy in Eugene, OR, dark roasted specialty malts, and Saigon cinnamon sticks. If that’s not tasty enough, the beer is also charged with nitrogen for a soft and creamy mouthfeel.
This beer was originally released in fall 2021 so it is now returning as a fall seasonal for the second time in 2023. Of course I can’t wait to crack open a nitro can, so off we go…
Firestone Walker Cinnamon Dolce Nitro Stout
Brewery Description:
Cinnamon Dolce Stout is a milk stout conditioned on whole Madagascar vanilla beans and cinnamon sticks. The malt profile is designed to provide rich coffee, chocolate, and sweet malty notes to play off the cinnamon and vanilla and provide an overall profile similar to cinnamon dolce coffee, which is typically a latte with a sweet cinnamon and vanilla syrup added.
ABV: 6%
IBU: 50
Style: Milk Stout
Packaging: 12oz Nitro cans
Appearance: Deep blackish-brown
Aroma: Cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla
Mouthfeel: Velvety soft
Taste: Vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate and mild licorice
Overall: Firestone Walker Cinnamon Dolce Nitro Stout is loaded with all of the things I love in a good stout (and a good cookie!). The simple but complex flavors of cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla make for a great milk stout, and adding the nitro charge makes for an amazing milk stout. Overall this has to be one of my favorite nitro stouts and a beer I know you will love.
Firestone Walker Cinnamon Dolce Nitro Stout is available now in 12oz nitro-charged cans so get out there and try one for yourself. And when you do try it (and love it), be sure to let us know what YOU think. zzubreebym
