Back in 2017 when I first reviewed today’s brewery, I had a feeling I was on to something special. The styles and ingredients were unique, the packaging looked great and of course the beer tasted really good. I’m talking about Temecula CA’s Garage Brewing and I’m really excited to get another chance to try out a few more of their new creations.
Garage Brewing opened it’s doors in 2013 in a former 8-bay auto garage in Temecula, and in 2016, they expanded with a new off-site brewpub and full production brewery. The brewery creates six year-round beers and a raft of rotating seasonals and they typically maintain 25-beers on tap. They are currently Temecula Valley’s largest brewery and today they were kind enough to share several of their new beers…so off we go.
Garage Brewing Mango Deuce Coupe
ABV: 8.9%
IBU: 100
Style: American Double IPA
Packaging: 12oz cans
Appearance: Bright amber orange
Aroma: Slightly resinous pine & herbal
Mouthfeel: Medium
Taste: Piney & resinous with loads of mango
Overall: Mango Deuce Coupe really threads the needle nicely between a west coast IPA and a traditional double IPA. The punch of mango nicely balances out the resinous hops but still allows the hops to shine. The balance definitely leans very hoppy and overall I really liked the combination.
Garage Brewing Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout
ABV: 7.1%
Style: Milk Stout
Packaging: 12oz cans
Appearance: Deep Brown black
Aroma: Tart cherries & rich sweet baker's chocolate
Mouthfeel: Medium with low carbonation
Taste: Prominent tart cherries, and subtle slightly dry cocoa
Overall: Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout is a really drinkable stout that combines two of my favorite classic stout flavors. The combination of tart cherries with the sweet chocolate and lactose make for a really tasty stout. Overall I really enjoyed the combination of flavors and how the tart and sweet flavors combine to create a classic milk stout with a fresh twist
.
Garage Brewing Hazy Boom
ABV: 7.35%
Style: American Double IPA
Packaging: 12oz cans
Appearance: Golden & hazy
Aroma: Citrus, grapefruit & berries
Mouthfeel: Medium & cloudy
Taste: Citrus, fresh berries & tropical fruits
Overall: Hazy Boom really packs a lot into a beer name and a hazy IPA. The beer feels and tastes fruit-forward with a big boom of citrus and mango hop flavors. Overall this beer has a nice drinkable combination of flavors that make it very satisfying and still somehow crushable.
Garage Brewing Mango Deuce Coupe, Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout and Hazy Boom are available now in 12oz cans. The flavors and combinations are really tasty and drinkable, and as an IPA and sweet stout lover, these are right up my alley. If you can get your hands on these beers I definitely recommend you enjoy one (or more) for yourself…and when you do try them, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
