Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Wild Leap Truck Chaser Dreamsicle Double IPA (Review)

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Wild Leap Truck Chaser Dreamsicle Double IPAI’ll admit that before I started publishing press materials from Wild Leap Brewing, I had never tasted any of their beers.  And while the beer descriptions always sounded delicious, the gap between my home in Pennsylvania, and Wild Leap’s home in LaGrange, GA was just too far to run out for a beer.  Naturally I was excited when Wild Leap offered to send a care package my way with a returning favorite.
Wild Leap Brewing was founded in Sept 2017 by Rob Goldstein and Anthony Rodriguez, with head brewer Chris Elliot joining the team.  The brewery is located in a 1940’s Auto sales and service building with a really large indoor and outdoor space.Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Wild Leap Truck Chaser Dreamsicle Double IPA
Today I’ll be sampling a returning beer from Wild Leap called Truck Chaser Creamsicle Double IPA.  First brewed in 2019, this beer is “back by popular demand” and after tasting it you’ll see why….in fact this beer was Wild Leap’s number one most requested beer to return.
Truck Chaser Creamsicle DIPA pours a cloudy golden orange color, and if the name doesn’t already give it away, the aromas lead with fresh oranges and pineapple, and finish with sweet and soft vanilla.  Brewed to taste like “a creamsicle straight from the ice cream truck,” this beer definitely hits that mark.  I’ve had a few beers that seek to taste like an actual creamsicle, but Truck Chaser really nails the look, aroma and taste.  The flavor combination of tangerine and vanilla really play nicely together and the sweetness from the milk sugar rounds out the equation.  The beer is complex and well balanced and the fact that it is actually a double IPA means there’s a sneaky boozy presence in the background.  Truck Chaser rolls in at 8.1%-AbV, but the flavors and mouthfeel hide that higher ABV really well.
Overall I really liked Wild Leap Truck Chaser Creamsicle DIPA and it has to be one of my favorite milkshake-style DIPA’s.  The beer is available now in 12oz cans for a limited time, so get out there and try it now.  And when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
