With so many new beers in the pipeline, every now and then we have to take five and tell you guys how they are coming on. This is one of those moments. Take a seat, and prepare yourself for the lowdown on a very special beer set to be released later this month.

A while ago we kicked around the idea of a BrewDog take on a whiskey sour, with a rye barley wine aged in bourbon barrels being blended into a lemon sour. Our brewing team got to work on the first half of that match-up, creating a rich, indulgent barley wine rocking 15% of the malt bill as rye. It was then locked away in American rye whiskey casks.
When the time came to taste the result, we were blown away. Forget the lemon. The match-up of rye on rye had produced a massively complex barley wine in its own right. So the whiskey sour idea remains on the flipchart, and Homicidal Puppet Help Desk is going to be unleashed instead. We cannot wait to bring this beer to you later this month!
Changing lanes for a moment, we also have something very special launching today exclusively for our legion of BrewDog Equity Punks. As they are the heart and soul of our company, we try our damnedest to make their suggestions a reality when possible and for a while now our shareholders have been calling for 5AM Saint to go into cans. So it has!
This super-limited amount of canned bittersweet chaos is just that – as another thank you to our Equity Punks for investing in us we have made the release an exclusive for them. But if they don’t hook up the entire batch we will put them on general release in our online shop. So watch our social media channels and Equity Punks – to your inboxes!
