Short’s Releasing She Uses Tangerines

While you probably know that our pub and original brewery are situated square in the middle of downtown Bellaire, you might not know that a trip west around Torch Lake will take you to our other home in Elk Rapids. The location of our production facility (where we brew, bottle, and can the beers you see distributed throughout our Great Lakes Distribution Footprint), Elk Rapids is also home to the Pull Barn (where will be releasing Psychedelic Cat Grass at 12:01 am this Wednesday, August 9th), Harbor Days, and our beloved Short’s Fest!

Each year, we celebrate our space on the fresh coast with a party of epic proportions. Fun in the sun, an epic tap list of Short’s brews and Starcut Ciders, and a killer lineup of Michigan music and local food, and an annual release of a ridiculously delicious bottled beer make Short’s Fest the party of the summer. And this year’s no different as we debut our newest barrel aged brew, She Uses Tangerines.

She Uses Tangerines is a white wine barrel aged Belgian Strong Ale with tangerine and Brettanomyces. Brewed with Dr. Rudi and Nelson Sauvin hops, Belgian candy sugar, and tangerine and fermented with two different strains of Brettanomyces, She Uses Tangerines is golden in color and pours with a moderate hazy and fluffy white head. Big aromas of barnyard funk, are accompanied by Belgian esters and notes of oak, citrus, and alcohol. Flavors of fruit and Brett are followed by flavors of banana and spice. She Uses Tangerines is inexplicably tart and sweet, but finishes fairly dry with flavors of oak and warming alcohol. Medium in body, Short’s Fest attendees are in for a real treat!

A limited number of 500 mL She Uses Tangerines are available exclusively at Short’s Fest happening right now! The festival is sold out, but if you’ve got a ticket, this is the brew to take home with you. We’ll see you out in Liberation park, party people. It’s time for a beer!
