Boulder, CO  – On July 22nd, Boulder Beer Company - Colorado’s First Craft Brewery - and Frank Day opened Boulder Beer on Walnut, the second Boulder Beer location, at 1123 Walnut Street in the former Walnut Brewery building.  The public Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, August 25th.

Although Boulder Beer on Walnut is now open for business, they’re throwing a Grand Opening Party on Friday, August 25th. An all day affair from 11am - close, the downtown crew will be tapping their newest handcrafted beers and offering specials on fresh off the smoker BBQ, beer, wine and cocktails throughout the day.  There will also be door prizes and live music on the new stairway to heaven stage above the entryway.

“With a couple of weeks under our belt we’re ready to welcome Boulder to its newest community gathering spot!” said Jeff Brown, Boulder Beer’s President and co-owner.

The new location’s 7-barrel brewhouse is turning into the R&D facility for new and experimental offerings from Colorado’s First Craft Brewery. And with 20 taps onsite, the brewery is excited about Boulder Beer on Walnut’s Brewmaster Rodney Taylor’s rotating brewer’s choice beers and the opportunity to gain public feedback on a larger scale for what might be the next big thing.

On the food side of things, Chef Logan Wolff took his newly created “wood smoker-inspired” menu from their Pub on Wilderness to the downtown location, expanding it with more appetizer and dinner entrée options with the larger kitchen space.

“With the addition of a BBQ smoker to this location Logan will be cranking out some great smoked menu items,” said Brown.  Fresh Verlasso salmon, gluten-free options, creative salads and burgers are just of few of the other menu choices.

The ambiance in the new brewpub is bright and cheery with high, exposed beam ceilings and soft, natural light filtering in through colored glass windows above the entrance.  Near the long 20-tap bar a large wood community table was added amongst the smaller high top tables for a traditional gathering place for large groups and to meet new friends. The cozy booths surrounding the outside walls of the room remain for a more intimate dining experience, and a large private party seating area near the back is perfect for large reservations.

For added entertainment, two Skee Ball machines were brought in to a back room to add a little gaming fun to the mix, and the space above the entryway converted into a live music stage.  Multiple big screen HD televisions were also tastefully hung around the brewpub, just in time to attract a game day crowd for the NFL and college football seasons.

“Our vision was to create an open, inviting atmosphere that has a friendly dining and beer hall feel,” said Brown.  “I’d like to think we’ve created a downtown brewpub where friends and families will gather to enjoy our food, brews and hospitality for years to come.”
