From Gordon Biersch:

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant opens its second Washington, D.C. location on Monday, April 1, less than two blocks from Nationals Park at 100 M Street, SE, directly above the Navy Yard Metro Station. A unique, modern-day brewery and restaurant, Gordon Biersch offers a sophisticated yet casual setting, serving authentic handcrafted German-style lagers and fresh made-from- scratch food.

The 8,290 square-foot restaurant boasts a seating capacity of 226 and features a stylish dining room, outdoor beer garden that seats 88 and a glass-enclosed brewing room. The spacious bar area will offer plenty of seating as well as numerous high-definition televisions and daily drink and food specials. Its opening coincides with Opening Day for the Washington Nationals.

Gordon Biersch offers a diverse selection of contemporary American dishes drawing from regional products and accented with bold flavors inspired by California, where the concept originates from. The menu includes everyone’s favorite, Gordon Biersch Legendary Garlic Fries, but the launch of this new location follows the introduction of a new Gordon Biersch menu featuring innovative items, including Woodford Reserve Bourbon Salmon, 10 oz. Knife & Fork Burgers and a wide selection of Flatbreads. All entrées are designed to complement their signature lager beer which has been recognized at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup Competition. The restaurant will offer five freshly brewed Signature Gordon Biersch lagers on tap and one seasonal option: Golden Export, Hefeweizen, Czech Lager, Märzen and Schwarzbier.

Gordon Biersch is internationally acclaimed for its authentic German-style lagers, all brewed according to the exacting standards of Reinheitsgebot (Rine-HEIGHT-ska-boat), or the German Purity Law of 1516. Gordon Biersch uses only the highest-quality Weyermann malt from Bamberg, authentic Bavarian Hersbrucker hops and pure, filtered water, delivering a range of well-balanced crafted lagers. Brewers handcraft the lagers onsite in stainless steel brewing tanks showcased behind glass windows.

Gordon Biersch offers an eclectic, urbane décor that distinguishes itself from other brewery restaurant concepts. At the core of the brewery restaurant’s philosophy is a passion to produce and deliver the highest-quality and freshest products. Onsite brewing and fresh-from-scratch menu items illustrate the company’s dedication to this principle. Gordon Biersch restaurants promote a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, where attentive and friendly service complements the fresh food and beer.

The new Southeast location marks the company’s fourth in the Washington, DC metro area – downtown DC (900 F Street, NW), Tysons Corner Center (McLean, VA) and Rockville Town Square (Rockville, MD).

The Navy Yard Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant will be open seven days a week, offering lunch, dinner and bar dining, from 11am until 10pm Sunday and Monday, with the bar open until 2am; Tuesday through Thursday, 11am until 11pm, with the bar open until midnight; Friday and Saturday, 11am until midnight, with the bar open until 2am.
