Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Heads East (To NC on Pilot System)

imageAs a big fan of Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp, I’m excited to see that they will carry on the tradition not only in Chico CA, but also at their new facility in NC.  News from BlueRidgeNow:

Jennings, head of research and development, will be head brewer at the Mills River facility. He said Beer Camp will be a part of the planned pilot brewing system there as well, after the main production brewery is up and running. The smaller system will eventually produce the kind of wide array of beer styles for the local market in WNC as it does here in Chico.

"I mean, when you come to the pub here and you see 24 different beers on tap by Sierra Nevada, and more than half of them the average person has never heard of before, it's pretty exciting," Jennings said. "People like variety, and they're pretty happy to see things that they haven't had before."

WNC beer drinkers will get a sample this summer with the release of the Beer Camp brews, though both groups — in a friendly competition for bragging rights — are keeping the identity of their beer style a secret for now.
