Anheuser-Busch To Brew Bud Light Platinum @ Fort Collins

imageWith the increase in demand & production for Bud Light Platinum that I reported on yesterday, this is no surprise to see their Fort Collins facility stepping up to brew this stronger light beer in June.  Details form the Coloradoan:

The newest addition to the line of Budweiser brands, Bud Light Platinum, is selling better than anticipated and as a result Anheuser-Busch is expanding production of the new beer to three breweries, including Fort Collins.

Brewing has already begun in Anheuser-Busch’ St. Louis, Mo. and Columbus, Ohio breweries, with its Fort Collins facility set to follow suit in June. Full details here.

    Bud Light Platinum is neither light in calories (a whopping 137 calories), nor in alcohol (6%). So what's the liability of Budweiser for misleading consumers that it's still the "same" Bud Light they're drinking (it's carrying the brand name, right?) when it's actually no longer a light beer by any beer standard?

    I guess it depends on what you consider low calorie. There are some in the mid 60's and even Guinness which is not considered high calorie is 200....so all in all 137 is not so bad. I guess it is buyer beware...read the label.
