High & Mighty Pas de Dieux, Hieneken Tarwebok & Dutch Dark

A few interesting new beers that I’ll be you’ve never seen yet….

High & Mighty Brewing Pas De Dieux…this is a 22oz bottle package for this 4.5% ABV “old-school” saison.  “Back in the odl days, before refrigeration, & before water was potable on its own, saison was brewed in the spring for summertime consumption by thirsty farmhands.  It would, therefore have been refreshing & drinkable, & hoppy, so that it would keep through harvesting season.  (It would also have been sour, though this recreation of the style is not.  Maybe we’ll try that next time.”   Look for a late July 2011 release.

Heineken…Tarwbok is a new 6.5% ABV (12oz bottle) traditional “Dutch” wheat bock, and Dutch Dark (keg only) appears to be a dark lager but

  1. Heineken Tarwebok is not new to the US- it was previously imported starting in the mid-1990's right around the time Heineken bought Van Munching.
