Great Divide Announces 2017 Release Calendar

Wow, 2016, just wow. We need a beer, or twenty, after that stunning performance. Not only did you make us suffer through a presidential election but you also brought us things like The Mannequin Challenge, the rise and fall of Ken Bone, the summer of Pokémon Go, Damn Daniel and the return of Gilmore Girls, just to name a few… solid work. So, as your time here comes to an end, we can’t say we’re all too sad to see you go. We’re here to say goodbye and good riddance as we welcome 2017 with open arms and fresh beer!

To really start things off with a bang, we’re excited to release Hop Disciples for the first time this year! Available only in cans January through April, this rotating hop project will join the ranks of Nadia Kali and Fresh Hop in our Tank Farm lineup. We also thought we’d shake things up a bit in 2017 and swap the release of Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti with Espresso Yeti. Now available January through February, you can finally celebrate Valentine’s Day with your true boo, Chocolate Yeti. Don’t worry, Espresso Yeti will follow with its new release date in April. But let’s not forget the homecoming of our golden girl, Orabelle. Missed 9 months out of the year, this beauty is back to help us transition into the new year with her golden hue and coriander charm.

Hop Disciples – Rotating Hop Project takes a bright, clean IPA and puts a different hop variety at the forefront of the sensory experience every year. The inaugural release features Idaho 7, which shows up punching with aromas of orange zest and stone fruit complemented by a hint of black tea leaves in an uncharacteristic element of subtlety. Hop Disciples may look tough on the outside, but with its golden blonde hue and approachable 6.2% ABV, we promise it’s a lover, not a fighter. 6.2% ABV

Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti is another revered incarnation of our legendary imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. Another great Yeti? Hell yes.

Orabelle is brewed with barley, wheat, oats, and rye.  This Belgian-Style Tripel is a golden beauty. Its two yeast strains, orange peel and dash of coriander impart surprising complexity and richness to this delicate ale. Don’t let Orabelle’s demure nature fool you; this is one flavorful pour.  Watch out, she’s a charmer – one sip and you’ll be in love.
