Upland Side Trail Series #7 Syrupticious Coming 11/20 & Barrel Chested Barleywine

imageFrom Upland:

Side Trail Series #7, Syrupticious, will be available on draught in mid November and will be on tap Upland brew pubs and tasting rooms November 20th.

Beer Description:

The aroma is rich with notes of coffee and maple syrup with a delicate sweet smokiness reminiscent of candied bacon. Maple and coffee also dominate the flavor and are complimented by scrumptious roast and chocolate contributions from dark malts. Supporting these flavors is a satisfying, full-bodied mouth feel created by generous additions of oats and lactose.

The relationship between cooper and oak barrel has long been respected and revered. The honored tradition of aging bourbon and wine in recent years has inspired brewers to experiment with barrel aging beer and the results are exquisite. Our Barrel Chested Barleywine is a gentle giant that can warm up the coldest nights and put some hair on your chest.

Upland Brewing Co. announced today that Barrel Chested Barleywine will be available in both 4 packs and on draught in early November. It will be on draught in all Upland brewpubs and tasting rooms by November 20th.

Beer Description:

This complex strong ale pours a beautiful deep copper with hues of bright mahogany and a creamy tan head. The essence of rich caramel, biscuit, toffee, and fig are coalesced during a long maturation period in oak barrels previously used by the Willett Distilling Company which arrive at the brewery still dripping with bourbon (which our brewers didn’t let go to waste). Over time, these barrels add their own flavor contributions of vanilla, toasted oak, and sweet bourbon undertones. At 9.5% ABV, this beer is a gentle giant with a seductive sweetness and intriguing complexity.
