Chicago, IL, June 27, 2013 -- In recent years, craft beer has made a serious statement at favored drinking holes around the nation. Fortunately for Chicagoland, the Midwest is known for the vast selection of specialized beers from local craft brewers. Bar1 Events has gathered six national craft beer heroes and teamed them up with six bar locations to showcase crafts selected by the brewers themselves.
The First Annual Great American Craft Beer Pub Crawl was developed with the help of Lagunitas Brewing Co., Brewery Ommegang, Oskar Blues Brewery, Brooklyn Brewery, and hometown heroes, Two Brothers Brewing Co. and Goose Island Brewery.
Each brewery has teamed up with one bar to show off their new summer brews, limited release goodies and long-time favorites. Every bar will offer food pairings, included in the $20 ticket price. All breweries have given four beers to sample at their respective bar, some of the beers, being extremely difficult or impossible to find elsewhere, at this time.
"We've done a lot of events at Bar1 over the years, but I'm genuinely looking forward to this one. Our customers have been asking us to up our game in the beer department and we've delivered. We are offering 24 beers with food pairings at six locations across Lincoln Park and Lakeview, with trolley transportation. At $20, it's truly fiscally irresponsible not to go," said Joe Magoonaugh, Bar1 Events General Manager.
Some crafts included in the crawl are Goose Island's Cucumber Pilsner, presented by Redmond's Ale House in Wrigleyville, and Lagunitas' limited release Cappuccino Stout, which will be served as a sample at Durkin's Tavern, and will also be available for purchase atop of two scoops of vanilla ice cream to make a Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout float.
Each bar will offer one select beer for $3 per pint, the day of the pub crawl. Tickets for the 24-beer pub crawl and food pairing cost $20 online and will be available for purchase at the door, the day of the event until 7:00 pm, June 29, 2013.
