Oskar Blues & Sun King Brewing “The Deuce” for GABF - 2nd Cone Top Can Collaboration

Last year we showed you the Oskar Blues / Sun King co-brewed CHAKA cone top cans.  This original brew was packaged by both breweries in re-sealable cone top cans.  Now comes word that the breweries got together on Friday to co-brew another beer for GABF 2012 to be named “The Deuce”  Details from Westword:

We're keeping some suspense about style of the beer," says brewery spokesman Chad Melis. But he promised that details about the collaboration, called The Deuce, will be dropped around town just before the Great American Beer Festival.

The Deuce will be packaged in the same resealable Alumi-Tek containers (made by Golden's Ball Corporation). Only twenty barrels are being brewed and most of it will be distributed to restaurant and bar accounts in Denver this October.

"It will be similar to Chaka because it has some things from Indiana and some things from Colorado," Melis says. The Chaka recipe included Shagbark Hickory syrup from Hickoryworks in Trafalgar, Indiana, grain from the Colorado Malting Company and a special yeast blend from Brewing Science Institute, also in Colorado
