St. Paddy’s Day Parade Promises Pleasure for the People

St. Louis Brewery to Supply Suds for Statewide Celebrations

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, March 1955 – With Gaelic galas just around the corner, the iconic St. Louis Brewery released a statement assuring revelers that they need not fear a shortage of suds. “Here at St. Louis Brewery, we have harnessed the full potential of our technical prowess to brew, package, and distribute enough beer to keep Irish eyes smiling across not just the city, but the entire state,” said newly-appointed CEO Auggie Langweiligsbier.

In a stunning turn of events, Langsweiligbier was appointed CEO by a shockingly compliant board of directors only weeks ago. Industry insiders implied intrigue as board members remained silent on the unexpected rise of the young brewer to company leader in such a short time. “It confounds every tenet of sound corporate governance. But, I’ll admit, young Auggie knows something about dominating a market,” said one distributor who requested anonymity as a purveyor of St. Louis Brewery’s product.

Langsweiligbier further disputed a connection between numerous recent reports of repressed revels and the brewery's beer, “To imply that my brewery’s beer is in any way responsible for the recent Mardi Gras without beads is slander. And our legal department will vigorously pursue restitution for damages! Next, our detractors will be claiming that our signature beechwood aging is merely a process for encouraging flocculation of bottom fermenting yeast. Outrageous!”

Despite the recent turmoil in the Missouri brewing industry, St. Patrick’s Day parade and pub crawl organizers around the state sought to reassure celebrants the rowdiness to which they are accustomed. “Erin go brah or go home!” said Springfield parade president Kelly O’Kelly.

Auggie stood in the cavernous cellar of the St. Louis Brewery, amid countless, gleaming brite tanks. Millions of gallons of boring beer ready for kegging, bottling, and distribution. Each ounce primed to deprive the public of not only joy, but their autonomy. “Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling …”
