Ground Breaker Brewing Builds Community Through Collaboration With Latest Release

From Ground Breaker:

Ground Breaker Brewing has released Super Bon Bon, a Chocolate Caramel Stout. The latest offering from the gluten-free craft brewery was created in collaboration with Missionary Chocolates, a Portland-based gluten-free and vegan chocolate company.  zzubreebym

“We have been partnering with Missionary since we started and we love the relationship we have with them,” said Founder James Neumeister. “When we were discussing brewing a stout this season we thought, ‘why not turn it up and do something more fun like a Salted Caramel Stout?’ Working with Missionary Chocolates came immediately to mind”

Each batch of Super Bon Bon is brewed using more than fourteen gallons of handmade caramel produced by Missionary Chocolates. The brewers at Ground Breaker wanted the flavor to be present but not overpowering and debated how to add the caramel to the beer. Looking for some advice, they reached out to a previous collaboration partner at Breakside Brewery.

“As we often do when we are looking for a little brewing guidance we contacted our friends at Breakside Brewery,” said Head Brewer Gloria Zeiger. “Ben [Edmunds] had an excellent recommendation for how to work with the caramel.”

At 6.6 percent alcohol by volume Super Bon Bon is a slightly sweet and salty winter warmer. The 16 ounce cans have already started to make their way to distribution partners. The beer is also available on nitro at the Ground Breaker pub located at 2030 SE 7th Ave.
