Mikkeller Homebrew Competition 2025

Do you want to pour your beer at MBCC 2025?

Here’s your chance to pour your beer for an incredible audience at MBCC 2025! Do you dream of hops? Is malt always on your mind? Ready to share your brew with the world? Then this competition is for you.

We're on the hunt for the top homebrewer in the Mikkeller universe. The competition kicks off at the original Mikkeller Bar in Viktoriagade, where our mystery judge and Mikkel himself will choose the winning brew.

The prize

The winner will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve their beer at MBCC 2025 (May 23–24) and receive exclusive perks as an official MBCC brewer.

The winner walks away with:

  • An official stand to pour your beer at MBCC 2025!
  • Brewer’s pass (+1) with access to all special events and perks.
  • Social media recognition across Mikkeller’s platforms.
  • Bragging rights.

How to enter

Select one or both categories to compete in:

  1. Orval Clone – aim to replicate the iconic brew as closely as possible.
  2. Freestyle – create any style you like. Just make it your best.

Competition rules
  • You may submit one beer per category, for a maximum of two entries total.
  • All styles and ingredients are welcome!
  • Label each bottle clearly with the beer’s name, your name or brewery, alcohol percent and contact details so we can reach you if you win.

Important dates and information:

  1. All entries must arrive by January 24, 2025.
  2. Judging will be conducted as a blind tasting, with only the beer’s name and style provided to the judges. The judging event will take place in Copenhagen in February 2025. Date TBA. 
  3. The competition is open worldwide, but the winner is responsible for transporting their beer to MBCC 2025.
