REHOBOTH, DE  (Nov. 25, 2024) – Dogfish Head and Lewes, Delaware’s iconic independent grocery store, Lloyd’s Market, have teamed up for a one-of-a-kind collaboration beer, inspired by WondeRoast rotisserie chicken. Since the 1970s, Lloyd’s Market has sold over a million WondeRoast chickens, a favorite of Dogfish Head Founder, Sam Calagione, who rallied the Dogfish Head brewing team to create its perfect beer pairing. Releasing on Friday, Dec. 6, WondeRoasty Stout (5% ABV) is a semi-sweet, robust stout infused with the spices and herbs that season WondeRoast chicken. Brewed with sweet and smoked paprika, rosemary, black garlic, sea salt, and black pepper, its warm, roasty character is balanced with the subtle sweetness of Demerara sugar.

WondeRoasty Stout will be available on draft for on-site enjoyment at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats and to-go in 4pk/16oz cans at Dogfish Head’s Off-Centered EmPOURium in Rehoboth, while supplies last. Priced at $18 per 4pk.

“The best part of owning a small-town, family-run grocery store for over 50 years is seeing locals supporting locals,” said Lloyd’s Market Co-owner Lenny Pollitt. “Sam and Mariah texted me out of the blue with a wild idea for an ‘off-centered’ beer collaboration. Beer with chicken seasoning—who would have thought? That’s how WondeRoasty Stout was born.”

Sam, Lenny and Selene Hebing, WondeRoast General Manager, will toast their collaboration at Dogfish Head’s annual Rehoboth Tree Lighting event on Friday, Dec. 6, from 6-8 p.m. The event, held in the courtyard of Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, will feature a vendor market, holiday treats, live music, a winter coat drive and more. Dogfish Head’s culinary team and Lloyd’s Market have also created a WondeRoast chicken salad sandwich, available on Dec. 6, at Brewings & Eats, made with roasted jalapeno chicken salad, shaved lettuce, thin-sliced red onion and WondeRoast pulled chicken on toasted brioche.

“Mariah and I have lived in downtown Lewes for nearly 30 years and think of the Lloyd's market family as an extension of our own,” said Sam. “As you open the door, the signature aroma of WondeRoast chicken is almost as warm and inviting of a greeting as the one you get from the staff at Lloyd's themselves, especially Lenny, who's always ready with a smile and excitement for what's new in store.”
