Oktoberfest season is coming up and Chuckanut Brewery is ready. Traditionally Marzen Lager was the beer that was tapped for Oktoberfest but in the past 30 years or so that tradition has shifted over to a fest beer that is lighter, golden colored and more of a Dortmund style of Fest Bier. Chuckanut occasionally makes its award winning Marzen Lager, the amber colored malty beer, in time for Oktoberfest and this year it happened! Celebrate the fall festival season with a Marzen Fest this year! Marzen Fest, previously called Old Fest, is available at both Chuckanut locations (Burlington and Portland) to enjoy during the autumn season. This lager is malty with rich flavors and an appetizing bitterness that serves to balance rather than challenge the malt underpinnings.
A breadlike, malty sweetness due to a complicated malt bill with a firm bitterness makes this traditional old style Oktoberfest lager beer very appetizing. It’s the perfect match with any sausages, pork or chicken dishes. Balanced and drinkable, Marzen Fest will be on tap at P. Nut Beer Hall (Portland), Chuckanut’s South Nut Tap Room (Port of Skagit) and selected accounts around Puget Sound, Spokane and Oregon. Find cans of Marzen Fest at both Chuckanut locations.
