From Dogfish Head:

Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats® launches its second Benevolence Beer of 2024 to benefit the
Milton Theatre, launching just in time for spring concert season at Quayside.

REHOBOTH, DE  (MAY 7, 2024) – On Wednesday, May 15, Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Brewpub, Brewings & Eats, will launch Standing O (5.3% ABV), its second Benevolence Beer of 2024, in collaboration with the Milton Theatre. Inspired by the theatre’s year-round Mardi Gras theme, this limited-edition American wheat-style ale is a take on a signature New Orleans drink, the Hurricane cocktail. With flavors of passionfruit, Cara Cara orange, pineapple and lime peel taking center stage, Standing O is refreshing, spritzy and fruity. Specially crafted for enjoying music, good times and shows at the Milton Theatre Quayside, the organization’s outdoor entertainment venue, Standing O will be available for on-site consumption in 16oz cans just in time for the first show of the season, on Thursday, May 16.  zzubreebym

“As the curtain rises on our 10th anniversary, the collaboration between the Milton Theatre and Dogfish Head unveils more than just a special brew; it's a celebration of the arts and craft, woven into the very fabric of our town,” said Director of the Milton Theatre, Fred Munzert. “We're so excited to announce ‘Standing O,’ as every sip will celebrate our year-round Mardi Gras theme and will be something that our audience, and Milton, will be proud of.”

To coincide with the launch, Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats will also host a Benevolence Night on May 15, inviting guests to dine and/or drink in support of the Milton Theatre, while enjoying performances from Milton Theatre favorites on the brewpub stage. 10% of all proceeds from the evening will be donated to the local non-profit.

Stemming from the early days of Dogfish Head, its Beer & Benevolence® program is the brewery’s way of giving back to the communities that have nourished its roots in coastal Delaware. Dogfish Head is proud to support the great work taking place in its home state by collaborating with nonprofit organizations to build community, amplify the arts and cultivate environmental stewardship. The brewery’s Beer & Benevolence Beer Series takes its initiatives a step further, with the release of a series of four beers each year, each conceptualized and brewed with a different local non-profit and a portion of the beer’s proceeds benefitting the collaborating organization.

The Milton Theatre:

The Milton Theatre, located in historic downtown Milton Delaware, has had an illustrious history in its more than 100 year existence. Erected circa 1910, the two-story building served, at one time or another, as the town’s movie theatre, basketball hall, fire station, social center & community stage. Various retail businesses & restaurants also thrived there. It has survived 3 major fires, countless “nor’easters”, and decades of neglect. But now, it proudly stands as a hub of artistic culture, not just to the town of Milton, but to the Delmarva Peninsula.

We’ve partnered with the Milton Theatre for our second Benevolence Beer of 2024 as part of the 10-year anniversary celebration of this music and arts venue located less than a mile away from our Milton Brewery. The Milton Theatre deserves more than just a round of applause for their commitment to the local arts - a standing ovation is much more fitting!
