Spring Brews Bloom: Brewers Association March Newsletter

From The Brewers Association:

As March concludes (and the last sip of green beer is cherished), I'm excited to share the freshest updates from the Brewers Association this month. Enjoy!

  • Bob’s Musings: New this month, we’re excited to introduce “Bob’s Musings” – a tidbit of insight from CEO and president of the Brewers Association, Bob Pease.
  • “The Brewers Association, alongside several other beer and hospitality organizations, supports the introduction of the Creating Hospitality Economic Enhancement for Restaurants and Servers (CHEERS) Act (H.R.7577). The CHEERS Act is bipartisan legislation to help restaurants, bars, and other hospitality businesses that operate draught beer systems. By accelerating tax benefits for these businesses, this legislation would help the craft beer community thrive. The BA’s government affairs team is hard at work promoting and protecting small and independent craft brewers; this is one of many efforts taking place at the federal level.”
  • CBC Registration: The 2024 Craft Brewers Conference is taking on The Entertainment Capital of the World! This year's conference includes keynote speaker Fawn Weaver of Uncle Nearest, and touts the 5th largest BrewExpo America! Don't miss the hop-portunity to join us in person and fill out a media application HERE.
  • Brewing Connections: The Spring 2024 cohort of the Brewers Association's Mentorship Program is the largest to date, with 35 members, and includes the highest number of brewery start-ups to participate in the program.
  • Big Brew: May the 4th be with you. See how homebrewers are headed to a galaxy far, far away with this year’s Star Wars-inspired 2024 Big Brew.
  • TTB Labeling Revisions: The TTB is considering mandatory disclosure rules for alcohol content, major allergens, nutritional information, and ingredients. Read more about the BA's response.
  • Can Liners: Crack open this new playlist all about aluminum cans. Everything there is to know about can liners, corrosion risks, and quality standards all in one place.
  • Employee Safety: Warming temperatures across the country have elevated this specific workplace hazard. Lets keep our brews and our crews chill this season.
  • Internal BA News: Raise a glass to Nancy Johnson, SVP of meetings and events at the Brewers Association, as she takes her final sip at the BA - cheers to retirement!
  • Member News: Our members are doing some cool things. Here's some recent bits they’ve been up to in March.
  • NKY Levee Brewery to Re-Open
  • Revolution Brewing Becomes the Official Craft Beer of the Chicago Sky
