Supervisor Mitchell to Join Crowns & Hops Brewing Co. and Community Members to Commemorate the 1st Annual Black Brewers Day in LA County

October 6, 2023 (Los Angeles, CA) - Coming off the heels of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimous approval of Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell's motion proclaiming October 10, 2023, as Black Brewers Day in Los Angeles County, Supervisor Mitchell, along with the County Department of Economic Opportunity will join the Founders of Crown and Hops Brewery Co. to commemorate this day with a scroll presentation and remarks.

Immediately following the program will be a tour of Crown & Hops Co.’s upcoming flagship taproom - it will be the first Black-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned taproom of its kind in Los Angeles County. Nationally, there are nearly 10,000 craft brewers, and an estimated 1% are Black. Since 1970, Black Brewer's Day has been recognized across the country; this will be the first time it will be formally recognized in Los Angeles County.
