Chuckanut Brewery has started the countdown to its family friendly Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 9 in Burlington, WA and Portland, OR. Chuckanut is known for its award winning Fest Bier which is always served in liter sized mugs at the Oktoberfest celebration. But that’s not the only fun that happens at this event, there’s lots of games and contests to enjoy. Show off your favorite German outfits, test your strength at the Liter Holding contest, try your expertise at eye hand coordination with Hammerschlagen, get involved in the Chicken Dance and join in the Yodeling contest. There’s also corn hole for all! Not all the games and contests are at both locations but there’s a good mix whether visiting in Skagit at South Nut or Portland at P. Nut.
Sazon Michoacano Taco Truck will be on hand in Portland to dish up food for the hungry along with friends Pacific Ice who make some of the best smoked fish in Portland! Two different food options will be on site in Burlington also. If you’re in the mood for some Bavarian grub The Skagit Landing will dish up brats while the Pop Up Oyster Bar will have fresh and cooked oysters. Either way there will be plenty to eat, and did we mention the beer? You are guaranteed there will be plenty of Chuckanut’s Fest Bier 2023 on hand to drink in liter mugs, just like in Germany. Plus there will be Chuckanut’s other great German beers like Kolsch, Dunkel Lager, Helles Lager, Bavarian IPA and Chuck Light Lager for the lightweights!
