PRIDE MONTH GUIDE

We’re celebrating Pride Month in a big way at our Beer Hall this June, with events, beer, t-shirts, etc. We’ll also be raising money for a great cause and, if the current climate is any indication, making Kid Rock super angry. Works for us.

FRIEND OF DOROTHY: Our yearly Pride beer is a pineapple-tangerine sour that will hit just right as the summer heats up. (As for the name: if you know, you know; if not, Wikipedia is your friend, too.)

As we did last year, we’re partnering with OutFront Minnesota on this beer. $2 from each Friend of Dorothy sold will go to OutFront’s mission to create a state where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment, or discrimination. Thanks for Surly’s DE&I Committee for getting the ball rolling on this and our brew team for making another fantastic beer.

Friend of Dorothy taps on Friday, June 2 at 3pm!

PRIDE TEES: Designed by Noah Lawrence-Holder, a Black nonbinary artist based in Minneapolis, our annual Surly Pride tee is as good as it gets. These usually sell out when there’s not a global pandemic, so get yours online or in our retail store directly. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit OutFront Minnesota.

ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW: We’re hosting two screenings of the iconic 1975 film in Surly Pizza Upstairs on Saturday, June 3rd, at 7:30 and 9:30 pm. Dammit, Janet.

FLIP PHONE DJ SETS: The drag brunch favorites will be DJing some Pride anthems in our Beer Garden on Sunday, June 11th from 3-5pm.

TRIVIA MAFIA PRESENTS PRIDE ON TV: Our usual Tuesday trivia night is dedicated to LGBTQ+ characters and actors on TV and film Tuesday, June 21st from 7-9pm.

All of these Beer Hall events are free to attend! See you here.

In addition, you can always get Surly at the Pride Beer Dabbler on Friday, June 23rd in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Friend of Dorothy and other summer favorites will be on tap.
