Dogfish Head MĀR Coming To 2023 Beer & Benevolence Series

Dogfish Head MĀR Coming To 2023 Beer & Benevolence Series

From Dogfish Head:

Dogfish Head is excited to launch MĀR, the second installment of our 2023 Beer & Benevolence Beer Series, in collaboration with our non-profit friends, the Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation (MERR) Institute, Inc. We’re inviting guests to experience this strawberry-inspired ale under the magic of the Strawberry Moon. We’re also hosting TWO Benevolence Nights at our Rehoboth Campus. Check out all the happenings for this partnership below!  zzubreebym

MĀR 16 oz. Can Release:

At 5.8% ABV, MĀR is a springy, fruity, blonde ale brewed with strawberry puree, organic barley malt, organic hops, and a sense of “porpoise”! Releasing on Friday, June 2, at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats, a portion of the beer’s proceeds will be donated to the MERR Institute to support their marine conservation efforts.

“In creating the beer with our partners at MERR Institute, we decided a light, glowing strawberry blonde ale would be a great choice for toasting our partnership under the Strawberry Moon,” said Dogfish Head Brewing Manager, Bryan Solders. “The name of the beer was chosen to avoid confusion with the pronunciation of MERR Institute, as many people have mispronounced it as ‘muhr.’ The use of the line over the letter ‘A’ in the name emphasizes the correct pronunciation.”

MĀR is available on draft for on-site consumption at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth brewpub and to-go in 4pk/16oz cans at Dogfish Head’s Off-Centered EmPOURium… while supplies last! Priced at $16 per 4pk.

Every 4-pack of MĀR is held together with an ocean-friendly carrier made from recycled industrial material. While each carrier can be composted to help cultivate a healthier planet, they also double as turtle food.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Dogfish on the release of MĀR. It's such a fun way to bring awareness and support to sea turtle and marine mammal conservation. Dogfish Head’s practices fit right in with our environmental mission to protect the ocean," said Suzanne Thurman, Executive Director of MERR.

Strawberry Moon Boat Tour:

In celebration of the beer’s release and as a nod to local marine life, we’ll be teaming up with our pals at Cape Water Tours to host a special Strawberry Moon Boat Cruise on Saturday, June 3, from 8 to 10 p.m., offering guests an off-centered evening of beer, nature AND benevolence!

Upon boarding the Cape Water Taxi at the Lewes Ferry Terminal, folks will also receive a 16oz can of MĀR to enjoy while taking in the sunset and Strawberry Moon, the final full moon of Spring, which historically marks the ripening of strawberries in the northern hemisphere. Tickets for the Strawberry Moon Boat Cruise are available HERE! $35 per person, which include one 16oz can of MĀR. Folks are welcome to bring their own beverages on board for an extra splash of personal enjoyment. 21+ event.

Benevolence Nights at our Rehoboth Campus in June:

Dogfish Head will be hosting TWO Benevolence Nights to benefit the MERR Institute. You’ll have two opportunities to come out and dine and/or drink for a cause! On Wednesday, June 7 and Wednesday, June 21 at Brewings & Eats, from 4-9 p.m., 10% of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to MERR. Stemming from our early days of Dogfish Head, the Beer & Benevolence program is committed to giving back to the community through creative collaborations with non-profit organizations. Dogfish Head endeavors to foster community, nourish artistic advancement and cultivate environmental stewardship, and partners with groups that share the same ideals and passions. The brewery’s Beer & Benevolence Beer Series takes its initiatives a step further, with the release of a series of four beers each year, each conceptualized and brewed with a different local non-profit and a portion of the beer’s proceeds benefitting the collaborating organization.
