Chestnut Mushroom Porter Coming From The Hope Farm in Alabama

Today we have news of a unique beer collaboration happening at The Hope Farm, a coastal destination in Fairhope, Alabama that houses multiple dining experiences fueled by its sustainable onsite farm, an award-winning wine program and multiple tranquil event spaces.

In tune with their passion for experimenting with flavors and supporting other local businesses, they have teamed up with local neighbor Fairhope Brewing to create a Chestnut Mushroom Porter beer featuring The Hope Farm's home-grown chestnut mushrooms. Though this exclusive beer will only be available for a one-off beer dinner at the property’s restaurant next month, I thought you might be interested in speaking with their team about the collab, as it’s definitely a unique partnership! In the past, they’ve also worked with breweries to develop a Blue Oyster stout, Hydroponic Basil Saison and a Blueberry/Basil Sour.

Chestnut mushrooms are a favorite amongst The Hope Farm culinary team (they are grown onsite in the farm’s hydroponic mushroom grow container), and its unique flavor lends itself perfectly for a tasty Porter-style beer. The beer is brewed utilizing just over a pound of dried Chestnut mushrooms and will be exclusively served alongside a five-course menu next month by the farm’s executive chef Adam Stephens.
