San Diego Golf Professional and PGA Member Tina Mickelson joins ReBru Spirits' Longball brand as Partner and Advisor

San Diego, CA  – San Diego golf professional and PGA member Tina Mickelson has joined ReBru Spirits’ Longball brand as a partner and advisor. Longball, a golf-themed hard lemon iced tea, was released earlier this year by the Barrio Logan-based distillery. ReBru founder Dennis O’Connor and Longball CEO Kerin Sovern made the announcement.   zzubreebym

Mickelson, whose brother Phil is a three-time Masters Tournament champion and World Golf Hall of Famer, will serve in an advisory role for the beverage in the golf space. She is the Director of Women’s Programming and Instruction for the Golf Channel Academy with David Impastato. She also serves as an ambassador for both San Diego’s The Santaluz Club and Carlsbad’s Callaway Golf. Her other local golf endeavors include serving as a contributor to Southern California Golf Association’s FORE Magazine and as the editor of SCGA’s FORE Her Newsletter.

Longball, which is fortified apple wine and includes real tea, real lemon, and natural flavors, can be consumed as a shooter, or used as a liqueur or cocktail modifier. The brand’s ready-to-drink canned cocktails, Longball & Soda, are available in 12-oz cans throughout San Diego County via Scout Distribution.

“I am proud to be a partner of this budding superstar of a brand,” Mickelson said. “Longball is a beverage that I really believe appeals to all golfers both on the course and in the clubhouse. It’s refreshing, has a low sugar content, and is such a clean drink. The upcoming San Diego golf summer will be a little more fun and refreshing this year.”

Longball & Soda has a 5% ABV, 123 calories, and five grams of sugar. The Longball & Soda Double is also available with a 10% ABV, 230 calories, and 10 grams of sugar. The 750ml bottles have an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 23.5%. Because of its fortified apple wine base and ABV that is less than 24%, Longball is a cocktail alternative that can be sold at establishments that hold only a beer-and-wine license.

“We are ecstatic to have Tina on our team to help spread the word about a great summertime beverage,” Sovern said. “I can’t think of anything more San Diego than toasting a Longball & Soda with your friends on the tee box at the Par 3 third on Torrey Pines’ South Course with that view of the ocean and La Jolla Cove. But whether it’s at Torrey, or any other great course in San Diego, Longball will make your round that much more fun.”

Other golf courses within San Diego County where Longball is available include Carlton Oaks Golf Club in Santee, Country Club – Rancho Bernardo, Mt. Woodson Golf Club in Ramona, Riverwalk Golf Club in Mission Valley, Steel Canyon Golf Club in Jamul, The Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe, and The Santaluz Club.

“Longball is great on the golf course, to be sure,” O’Connor said. “But it’s also great while relaxing on the back porch with family and friends or sitting at the bar watching a game. It feels like it’s going to be the drink of summer in America’s Finest City.”

Longball is available in all Total Wine & More locations in San Diego County.

Over the last three years ReBru Spirits has made its own line of vodka, gin, whiskey, and absinthe – all repurposed from unsold local craft beer. In 2021, ReBru took home a Silver Medal for its gin at the New York International Spirits Competition, as well as a Bronze Medal for the vodka.
