From Mikkeller:
On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Mikkeller is hosting a massive party at Warpigs Brewpub in Kødbyen, Copenhagen, to celebrate the 100th group run of the Mikkeller Running Club. zzubreebym
Founded in 2014 by Mikkel Bjergsø and Søren Runge, the Mikkeller Running Club's goal is to encourage as many people as possible to find a balance between physical activity and socializing - with beer, of course! The club is open to everyone, regardless of experience level, and there is no requirement for membership.
At the first meeting, announced on Facebook, only eight people showed up at Mikkeller & Friends in Nørrebro. But by the third training, over 100 people had signed up. Word quickly spread, and soon Mikkeller Running Club Chapters were formed in other cities.
The Mikkeller Running Club now has more than 200 chapters around the world, and they gather on the first Saturday of every month for “First Saturday.” In Copenhagen, the event is still called Fællestræning, and the Copenhagen chapter now holds runs every day of the week from different Mikkeller bars around the city, which the runners call “clubhouses.”
The 100th group run is a significant event for the club, and the goal is to create the largest gathering in the club's history, which is currently 500 people. The event will take place at Warpigs Brewpub, where a party tent will be dedicated to the occasion.
After the run, prizes and awards donated by partners and sponsors will be given out. For this special occasion, there will be free beer in the tent for 100 minutes after the first runner returns from the route.
Everyone is welcome to participate, and there will be ten different routes to choose from with different tempos. The club's captains will explain the routes and ensure a good experience for all.
At 11:00 a.m., Mikkeller's founder, Mikkel Bjergsø, and co-founder, Søren Runge, will welcome everyone to the 100th group run. There will also be an opportunity to store a small bag of clothes.
This is an event you don't want to miss, so come and celebrate the 100th group run of the Mikkeller Running Club with a good run, lots of fun and socializing!
