VK Brewing To Open 11/15 In Former Ship Inn Exton, PA

From VK Brewing:

Hello friends and followers!

zzubreebym

As we prepare to open, we wanted to take a moment to remind you all that the “Brewing” aspect of VK Brewing is in the works! We have a full liquor license and we are so excited to serve you our handcrafted cocktails and a wide selection of bottles and cans. However, we are still waiting for our brewery license to go through and unfortunately, this is a process that takes several months. As soon as we are able to serve you our brews, you will be the first to know!

Additionally, this weekend we had our soft opening for friends and family. We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to support us and cheer us on as we begin this new chapter in our lives. We don’t want to scream “WE’RE OPEN” from the rooftops quite yet but we will be having limited dinner service hours starting Tuesday, November 15 and will be ramping up when we are able.

Thanks as always for all of the support and love

Cheers!

Najib and Jason

Sleepy Sunday morning? How about a history lesson!

In 1794 when Lancaster Turnpike was built, it was one of the marvels of the century. Almost the sole avenue of transport between Philadelphia and the west, it was soon occupied with stagecoaches, wagons and drivers. To meet the needs of these travelers, public houses sprang up every few miles and among the earliest of these was the Ship Inn, where VK Brewery will soon reside!

The Ship Inn was a frequent stop for people traveling via stagecoach from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. Stagecoach passengers paid 31 1/4 cents per meal at the inn while the coaches and horse would rest in the side yard.

The original mile marker post is inside the building. “25 M to P” showed travelers that they had 25 miles until they reached Philadelphia.
