New Survey Shows Nearly 1 in 4 Beer Drinkers are IPA Lovers

From Lagunitas:

PETALUMA, CA  AUGUST 02, 2022 -  recent national survey commissioned by The Lagunitas Brewing Company, conducted online by The Harris Poll among more than 1,000 US beer drinkers ages 21+, shows that nearly 1 in 4 beer drinkers age 21+ (23%) consider themselves an IPA Lover. The national craft brewer with the #1 selling IPA in the world will join these IPA fans in raising a cold one to celebrate this year’s National IPA Day on Thursday, Aug. 4. zzubreebym

“With a wide range of IPA styles, there’s a Lagunitas brew for every occasion and person,” said Paige Guzman, Lagunitas’ Chief Marketing Officer. “From our iconic IPA to our Non-Alcoholic IPNA, we’re dedicated to making sure there’s a Lagunitas beer for everyone. We even created an IPA Day Matchmaker to help our friends discover which deliciously hoppy IPA is right for them.”

IT’S AN IPA PARTY IN THE USA
For the 22% of beer drinkers age 21+ who admit they are IPA virgins (I.e., have never tried IPA), perhaps National IPA Day is the day to make that change. From
Hazy to Sessionable to Double, there are so many IPAs to try. Those who buy a Lagunitas 6-pack will find a $3 rebate in states where valid. Use the great brew finder to find the store closest to you.

For those who want to wear or express their affection for IPAs, select bars and restaurants will be passing out free Lagunitas IPA Day kits filled with pins, bandanas, T-shirts, koozies and openers. Grab some schwag and show some love for IPAs.

For those who are lost on what to do to celebrate this wonderful day, Lagunitas is offering party tips and playlists, and encourages everyone to share their experience with #IPADAY and #lagunitasbeer.

IT’S OFFICIALLY LAGUNITAS IPA DAY
Lagunitas is the true OG of IPA by fueling its popularity nearly 30 years ago. While it has grown to be global, it’s local at heart. Mayor Teresa Barrett of Petaluma where the craft brewer is headquartered, is proclaiming the first Thursday of August as Lagunitas IPA Day. She’ll hold a toast at 4:20 p.m. on August 4 at the Lagunitas Petaluma TapRoom & Beer Sanctuary. Customers are also invited to come enjoy special TapRoom-only IPA Day brews.

While more than one in three beer drinkers age 21+ (36%) know that IPA stands for India Pale Ale, one in 20 (5%) think it means International Puppy Appreciation. Lagunitas embraces both meanings and extends the TapRoom celebration invitation to IPA fans and their four-legged companions. Lagunitas also honors this meaning through its various charitable givings to animal shelters including a national partnership with The Best Friends Animal Society.

ABOUT THE LAGUNITAS BREWING COMPANY
When The Lagunitas Brewing Company started on a kitchen stove back in 1993, no one could have imagined that a small, Northern California brewery would expand to more than 48 countries and have the #1 selling IPA in the world. During its history of making innovative craft brews, it has created an iconic line of hop-forward beers including: Lagunitas’ Flagship IPA, Daytime, Hazy Wonder, A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’, Maximus and Super Cluster. And there is now a seat at the bar for everyone. Lagunitas’ next chapter of innovations include a craft brewed non-alcoholic brew, seltzer and hard sparkling tea for full-flavored imbibing: IPNA, Hoppy Refresher, and Disorderly TeaHouse. Even as its offerings have evolved, its passion for edgy brewing, fresh music, strong sense of community, and of course, dogs, have remained the backbone of brewery.
