Church Street Brewing News

From Church Street Brewing:

Fall is a big deal in the brewing world. Traditionally, this was the time of year when freshly harvested barley was cheap, plentiful, and first ready to be malted and eventually made into strong beer tailor made for the coming winter months. In keeping with this tradition, September promises to be chock-full of events both at Church Street’s brewery in Itasca as well as in the surrounding communities.   zzubreebym

-Church Street will start the month off by serving its award-winning beer at the Schaumberg Septemberfest from September 3rd to September 5th at the Al Larson Prairie Center.

-The following weekend, Church Street will be at the Itasca Oktoberfest from September 8th to September 10th in Washington Park.

-Across the street, Church Street will be serving beer at the Itasca Fast 5k on September 10th at Usher Park.

-That same weekend, Church Street will also be at the Screw City Beer Festival on September 10th.

-The following weekend, Church Street will be hosting an Art Market at HopGarten, its outdoor Biergarten in Itasca on September 17th.

-Church Street will be hosting four days of music, food, and games at its Itasca brewery to celebrate its tenth anniversary from September 22nd to September 25th with tons of music, food, games and fun.

-To round out the month, Church Street will be hosting an Oktoberfest celebration at HopGarten from September 29th to September 31st to thank customers for a fantastic inaugural season for the Biergarten.

Of course, this ambitious roster of events would be nothing without fantastic beer to go with them.

-Church Street will be brewing its hugely popular seasonal Itascafest Marzen throughout the month to keep up with demand.

-Assistant Brewer Michael Smith’s favorite beer style is a well-executed brown ale. On September 2nd, Church Street will begin serving Michael’s take on the classic style as a taproom-only release.

-Earlier this summer, Church Street collaborated with Art History Brewing to create Cathedral Dampfbier, which went on to become the #1 Steam-style beer on Untapp’d. The first batch disappeared from shelves in less than a month and the teams from each brewery reconvened to brew a second batch, scheduled for release on September 16th.

-For its anniversary weekend, Church Street will be releasing its Czech Mate Dark Czech Lager on September 22nd. With fewer than one thousand gallons being produced, this roasty, malty lager will go quickly.

-Additionally, each of Church Street’s four brewers has created their own stout recipe that will be made available as a taproom-only release on September 22nd.
