Today I have a new can and bottle coming from Firestone Walker in Paso Robles and Buellton, CA.

Cal Poly Gold will be a lager brewed for California Polytechnic State University (4.7%-AbV, 12oz cans). I’ve also added in the Firestone Walker Barrelworks Brewmaster’s Collective Terroir Cinq American wild ale fermented with Graciano grapes from Kingsley Vineyard (8.5%-AbV, 375ml bottles—100 cases). Stay tuned for release details.

Cal Poly Gold:
A Hometown Collab

Mustang pride is brewing across the Central Coast as we introduce Cal Poly Gold, the official craft beer of Cal Poly, our local state university located just down the road from our Paso Robles Brewhouse.

Debuting on Sept. 10 at the Cal Poly Mustangs' football home opener, the beer will be available at all Cal Poly Athletics events with concessions. Next week, it will roll out as a year-round offering across San Luis Obispo County and Santa Maria, and it will be available at our Paso Robles location.

Cal Poly Gold is the latest step in a longtime partnership between Cal Poly and Firestone Walker. As David Walker put it, "Cal Poly graduates have always played a vital role in the ranks of our brewing team and elsewhere in our brewery." A Cal Poly alumna even designed the can for Cal Poly Gold!

Learn more about the collaboration in our latest blog post.
