Elevation Beer Co Says Goodbye to Plastic Rings

Elevation Beer Co Says Goodbye to Plastic Rings

From Elevation:

PONCHA SPRINGS, CO — 100% compostable and biodegradable six-pack rings to crown Elevation Beer Company’s six-packs.

Elevation Beer Co. is incredibly proud to announce its transition from plastic 6-pack rings to e6pr  compostable and bio-degradable carriers made from biomass. This change took effect in February of 2022. While there will be some overlap in the market, their goal is to have the current packaging of plastic rings depleted within 90 days.

Utilizing one of the first high-speed applicators for the e6pr carriers, they are among a small but growing number of producers actively reducing the amount of plastic used in production.  Only 2% of plastics make it through the recycling cycle, and over 269,000 tons of it are floating in our oceans. Additives, inks, and adhesives make paper and cardboard incompatible with current recycling systems and stress our already limited forest resources.
