10 Barrel Brewing Puts 19 Medals in the Case at the 2021 North American Beer Awards

From 10 Barrel:

Five of 10 Barrel’s master brewers contribute beers to win six gold, eight silver, and five bronze medals.

BEND, OR  (May 24, 2021) – Bend-based 10 Barrel Brewing is proud to announce that brewers Brian Augello, Whitney Burnside, Tonya Cornett, Ian Larkin, and Bryon Pyka
brought in 19 medals, including six gold—on behalf of 10 Barrel Brewing at the 2021 North American Beer Awards (NABA). These medals come hot on the heels of the 10
Barrel Brewing team’s five medals won for their canned cocktails at the American Distilling Institute’s Craft Spirit Awards.

The North American Brewers Association has run NABA, its premiere award event, since 1997. This year’s awards were held in-person as a double blind tasting by a mix of certified
judges, master brewers and members of the North American beer media.

Beer submissions were segmented into 89 judged categories. 116 breweries and 348 beers were recognized with awards, and 10 Barrel Brewing topped the charts with the
most medals—19 total in 18 judged categories; the breakdown included six gold medals, eight silver medals and five bronze medals.

As much as this year’s NABA was a competition between North American breweries, it was an internal competition for the 10 Barrel team. Each individual 10 Barrel Pub-based
brewer competed for recognition, with headquarters in Bend, OR taking seven medals. Whitney Burnside and the Portland Pub close behind with six medals. Bend’s Pub location
took five medals, while Brian Augello put the Boise pub on the board with a silver medal for his Easy Livin Ale.

“This is an amazing validation of the brewers beer creation proficiency,” said Jimmy Siefrit, 10 Barrel Brewing’s senior brewmaster. “These medals don’t come easy and it proves
their hard work and devotion to their craft. The medals and recognition are a huge win for 10 Barrel.”
