Delaware County, PA (June 21, 2021) – Old friends, Wawa and 2SP Brewing Company, are continuing the tradition of brewing collaborative limited-edition beers – this time, with a summer twist. On the heels of three successful holiday brews, the collaboration between 2SP Brewing Company’s Head Brewer, Bob Barrar, and Wawa’s Manager of Concept Development and Beverage Guru, Michael McLaughlin, brings about a brand-new brew – Sunfest Strawberry Lemonade Shandy, a crushable, light-bodied shore beer with a touch of strawberry sweetness and a delightful pucker finish courtesy of Wawa’s fresh lemonade. “Working closely with Wawa's beverage guru, Michael McLaughlin, we brewed a modern shandy recipe that includes a unique yeast that showcases the spectrum of flavors of Wawa's Strawberry Lemonade. The collaborative approach to the Sunfest beer was to find that balance of upfront strawberry sweetness with a refreshing lemon citrus finish that comes from the lemonade. What's the result? A Strawberry Lemonade Shandy that sings summer crusher,” said Michael Contreras, 2SP Brewing Company Fans will see the specialty brew hit shelves on Thursday, June 24 at six select Wawa Stores, including its two flagship beer stores in Chadds Ford, PA and Middletown, PA and for the first time, four new stores now offering alcoholic beverages including Blakeslee, Emmaus, Horsham and Philadelphia (Addresses below), as well as 2SP Brewing Company (120 Concord Road, Units 101-103, Aston, PA 19014) on Saturday, June 26, and on Monday, June 28 at select distributors and better beer retailers in Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Eastern Shore Maryland. Sunfest 6-pack cans are priced at $8.99 each.

Wawa Beer and Wine Stores Expansion in Pennsylvania
Wawa has expanded its beer and wine store footprint, with the goal of providing more convenience, from two store locations at 721 Naamans Creek Road, Chadds, Ford, PA and 1073 Baltimore Pike, Middletown, PA 19063 to six stores with the addition of four new locations offering beer and wine at 201 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, PA, 18049, 296 Route 940, Blakeslee, PA 18610, 1139 Horsham Road, Horsham, PA 19044 and its latest location as of June 17, 2021 at 2600 Penrose Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19145.

Wawa, Inc., a privately held company, began in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey. Toward the end of the 19th Century, owner George Wood took an interest in dairy farming and the family began a small processing plant in Wawa, PA in 1902. Head Brewer Bob Barrar is a Delaware County native and has won over 30 Great American Beer Fest Medals and 11 World Beer Cups.
True to style: that's Delaware County and that's 2SP. In 2015 Bob Barrar, one of the most awarded brewers in the country, got together with a few unemployables and opened a brewery in Delco. Their goal was to get Bob's beers into the hands and lips of drinkers across the region.
