3 DAUGHTERS BREWING ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION BREW WITH ST. PETERSBURG DISTILLERY, TOTAL WINE AND MORE
As fall hits Florida, 3 Daughters Brewing in St. Petersburg announced the release of the Whiskey Barrel-Aged Belgian-Style Golden Strong Ale, a decidedly unique and flavorful brew created in collaboration with St. Petersburg Distillery and Total Wine and More.
This light-bodied beer runs deep with flavor and complexity after being aged with raspberry in Old St. Pete Whiskey barrels, the lights hints of raspberry balancing with the oak, vanilla and whiskey from the barrels. The smooth, golden ale checks in at 9.5% ABV. Inspiration for the beer came from the warm, fruity ales once brewed by Trappist monks, pairing the traditional profile with modern touches.
Six packs of the Belgian Golden Strong Ale will be available exclusively at participating Total Wine stores across Florida, and in the 3 Daughters Brewing Tasting Room beginning on November 5th.
“What’s so exciting about this project isn’t just the excuse to brew great beer, but the opportunity to work with our local partners to create and share a beer that is truly unique to Florida,” said Brian Horne, VP of Sales and Marketing at 3 Daughters Brewing. “It’s a traditional style with our own St. Pete twist – an incredible beer unlike anything you’ve had before.”
To celebrate the debut of this limited release, a launch party will be held at 3 Daughters Brewing in its St. Petersburg Tasting Room on November 5thfrom 6-9 pm. In addition to the first pint being poured, there will be food, drinks and giveaways including a St. Petersburg Distillery dart board and one of the whiskey barrels in which the beer itself was aged.
3 Daughters describes the beer as follows on the cans: “Like the oldest stories, this beer comes steeped in depth, character and warmth. Brewed in the traditional Belgian style, and aged with raspberry in Old St. Pete Whiskey barrels, don’t let the fruity, golden sweetness fool you – this one is the devil in disguise. “
