Saber-Tooth Tiger: an extinct tiger-cat, more accurately known as a Smilodon.

Sabrotooth Tiger: a Sabro hop-driven IPA from Surly Brewing Co.

The Sabro hop brings what we in the beer industry call “a hell of a lot” of flavor and aromatics to the table, with citrus, pineapple, and coconut character to spare. We did a pilot IPA in our Beer Hall with Sabro doing the heavy lifting, and the raves led to our newest seasonal beer.

With the help of Citra and experimental hops, Sabrotooth Tiger preys on lesser IPAs with ferocious, fruit-forward flavor and a formidable hop bite. Sabrotooth six packs are available to all Surly markets, with some limited draft availability as well.

The particulars:

Hops: Warrior, Sabro, Citra, experimental (dry-hop)

Malt: 2-Row, Cara-8, Carafoam, Acidulated Malt

Yeast: English Ale

Pour: Golden

Bitterness: Medium

ABV: 6.7%
