Terrapin is Celebrating Solar Brewed Beer with a June Release of Sunray

Terrapin is Celebrating Solar Brewed Beer with a June Release of SunrayI brought you a peek, and now this from Terrapin:

The official start of summer is June 21st, the longest day of the year. To celebrate, Terrapin’s kicking it off early with a limited release of Sunray, a wheat beer brewed with the power of the sun.

In 2019, we installed 720 solar panels on the roof of our brewery in order to offset our energy consumption as part of our Terraprint initiative. To celebrate our Solar Brewed Beer we brought back Sunray, a beer we originally produced in 2008. This limited release will include updated artwork that gives a nod to the solar panel addition on top of our brewery. Besides being solar brewed, Sunray’s malt bill also includes Georgia grown wheat malted by Riverbend Malt House in Asheville, NC.

Georgia sun, Georgia malt, Georgia beer. What more could you want this summer?

Sunray will be available across our distribution footprint in limited 6-pack cans. Shipping to our distributors will begin the week of 6/1.

From the label:
Solar Brewed Beer
Taste the Sunshine
ABV: 5.2%

Sunray Wheat beer is back as a celebration of Terraprint, our effort to offset our impact on the environment and increase our impact in the community. Brewed with the power from over 700 solar panels on the roof of our brewery in Athens, Georgia this beer tastes as good as using renewable resources feels.
In an effort to cut down on our carbon footprint, packaging materials, and waste (in line with our
Terraprint initiative) we are shifting to samples by request only. Please respond to this email if you are interested in receiving Sunray as a  press sample. We are also happy to provide pictures if you are looking for imagery outside of what is attached if you prefer not to receive packages due to COVID-19. Thank you!

About Terrapin Beer Co.
Terrapin Beer Co. began as a daydream between founders John Cochran and Spike Buckowski, who brewed and released their first beer in 2002. Inspired by the creative culture of Athens, Ga., the brewery’s home, Terrapin continues to produce unique beers year after year. Whether you’re joining us for a brewery tour at our tasting room, drinking a Hopsecutioner at your favorite watering hole, enjoying some Luau Krunkles on the beach, sipping some Up-Hi on your back porch, or enjoying a RecreationAle after a long day on the trail, we hope you appreciate the dedication we’ve put into our beers.
