Tröegs Harvest Hopfest Returns 10/4

From Tröegs:

We invite you to join us at the brewery this weekend for our 3rd Annual Harvest Hopfest to celebrate everyone's favorite sticky, green cones! In addition to our signature HopDash 5k Race, we'll feature Food Truck and Snack Bar specials all weekend long, plus a whole bunch of live music in the Beer Garden*… and more! *In the event of inclement weather, music will move indoors to the Tasting Loft.

To make the weekend even hoppier, we’ve got a pair of juicy, fruit-forward IPA can releases dropping this Friday at the brewery to usher in the weekend's festivities. Lucky Holler features Galaxy, Citra and Simcoe hops and is dry-hopped to elicit notes of grapefruit, passionfruit and bubblegum. Harvest Hopfest DIPA continues our hop explorations with Azacca, Simcoe and Sultana, and boasts notes of stone fruit and pineapple to mingle with our peachy house yeast. Both beers will be available all weekend long during Harvest Hopfest!

We'll also tap two special dry-hopped firkins of each beer as well a version of our Perpetual IPA with basil and grapefruit zest. See below for the firkin tapping schedule:

  • Friday at 5 p.m. in the Beer Garden – Harvest Hopfest DIPA dry-hopped with Simcoe to amplify the beer's creamsicle notes
  • Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Tasting Room – Lucky Holler dry-hopped with Citra to add an additional smack of grapefruit and juicy citrus
  • Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Beer Garden (weather permitting) – Perpetual IPA with basil and grapefruit zest for an added dimension to our citrusy, piney year-round IPA.

As if those two new beers weren't enough to satisfy your thirst for hops, we've got a third draft-only Scratch Beer release brewed especially for Harvest Hopfest!

Overnight shipping is a wonderful thing. Thanks to Oregon’s Crosby Hops, in early September we received 60-pounds of fresh-picked Amarillo hop cones. Naturally, we got right to work on an Amarillo fresh-hop beer for Harvest Hopfest! A light grain bill of pilsner malt, Vienna malt, white wheat and oats lets the hops shine. Amarillo – think super-charged Cascade – dominates the profile with its distinct notes of orange, lemon and grapefruit.
