In the 22nd annual mega-tasting known as the Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition, where over 730 beers, ciders, meads and sakes were judged on October 26, 2018 in Bridgeport, CT, DePeach ála Mode, Cherry Bomb, and Tangled Up in Bruges took the gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively. Lithermans is a nanobrewery in Concord NH that produces less than 1000 barrels annually. Its size relative to others in this international competition makes this honor so noteworthy.
Lithermans opened its doors on April 8, 2016 and has garnered a reputation for their diverse offerings which range from the ever popular hazy, juicy IPA ‘Misguided Angel,’ to fruited sour ales, to traditional Belgian beers.
DePeach ála Mode earned a gold medal, winning first place among all Fruit and Spiced ales judged at the competition. DePeach ála Mode is Lithermans’ spin on the classic German Hefeweizen style. Taking a spin on this classic, Lithermans brewed a beer with peaches and milk sugar that provides a hint of sweetness.
Cherry Bomb berliner weisse earned honors with a silver medal in the Sour and Wild Ale-Berliner Weisse category. Cherry bomb is an attractive, refreshing wheat ale fermented with cherries. The addition of tart cherries adds a modern twist to this classically simple style. This type of beer is thought to date back to the 16th or 17th century, and Napoleon’s troops referred to it as the “Champagne of the North”.
Tangled Up in Bruges is a return to a classic Belgian style beer. Tanged took home the bronze medal in the Saison category. Saisons, similar to farmhouse ales, originated in the area where modern France and Belgium border. Tangled is light in body and dry in finish with a hint of spice.
The brewers feel honored to win these medals because they are not brewing their beer for competition but instead focus on styles and flavors that they enjoy drinking. Cheers!

Misguided Angel New England Style IPA
Our Flagship IPA is 7.5% abv and uses over 4 pounds per barrel of hops. Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops create a symphony of juicy tropical fruit, resinous pine, aromatic zest.
