Indeed Brewing Takes Home a Variety of Hardware at 2 International Beer Competitions

MINNEAPOLIS, MN , FEBRUARY 27TH, 2019: Indeed Brewing takes home a variety of hardware at two international beer competitions.
Indeed Brewing Company is pleased to announce the achievement of winning a gold medal at the Best of Craft Beer Awards, and bringing in several medals in a variety of categories at the Beverage Tasting Institute World Beer Packaging Championships and World Beer Championships.

Indeed took home Gold in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Sour Beer category for Wooden Soul: In the Thicket at the Best of Craft Beer Awards. The competition took place in the vibrant beer town of Bend, Oregon, on February 8th-10th, 2019, during a private tasting. 262 medals were awarded by carefully selected Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) judges, vetted brewers and guest judges in the industry to 162 breweries spanning 33 states in 90 award categories. Other Minnesota breweries taking home hardware in this competition include Pryes Brewing, Spilled Grain, Third Street Brewing, Waconia Brewing Company, and Blacklist Artisan Ales. The full list of winners can be found here.

Wooden Soul: In the Thicket is one of many selections from Indeed’s sour barrel-aging program led by Adam Theis. This golden sour ale is refermented with ripe Minnesota raspberries and barrel-aged with Brett and bacteria strains combined to form a tart, dry, and berry-filled brew with notes of sour citrus. This beer is available in limited quantities on draft and in 750mL bottles.

Indeed was also awarded medals in many categories at the Beverage Tasting Institute World Beer Packaging Championships and World Beer Championships.

In the World Beer Packaging Championships, Indeed’s Lucy Session Sour can placed Platinum for Creativity, Graphic Design, Form, and Style; Flavorwave IPA placed Platinum in Creativity, Graphic Design, Form, and Style; and Day Tripper Pale Ale placed Silver for Graphic Design, Style and Form. The intricate art design of the cans is created by Minneapolis-based artist Chuck U, who creates art for all of Indeed’s core, seasonal, and specialty can offerings. Indeed is proud to have partnered with Chuck U since opening in 2012. The packaging layout for Lucy and Day Tripper can be attributed to Duffy out of Minneapolis, and the Flavorwave IPA can is the result of a collaboration between Chuck U and Indeed’s in-house graphic design department. All of these selections are year-round offerings available in 12 oz cans and on draft throughout all of Indeed’s markets.

In the Beverage Tasting Institute tasting competition, Indeed took Gold for Mexican Honey Imperial Lager, Silver for Zwickelbier, and Bronze for their latest offering, Mexican Honey Light.

Mexican Honey Imperial Lager was given an “Exceptional” score of 92 points in the Imperial Pilsner category. Humming with a citrus and floral fiesta for the senses, Mexican Honey Imperial Lager is brewed with Mexican orange blossom honey and Amarillo hops. This beer is also a proud recipient of the Silver Medal at the Great American Best Festival 2014.

Zwickelbier was awarded 88 points for a “Highly Recommended” rating in the Keller/Zwickl category. This unfiltered version of Indeed’s B-Side Pils is a naturally carbonated lager that is lively and crisp with a trace of floral hop bitterness.
Indeed’s most recent beer release, Mexican Honey Light, took home bronze with 84 points in the “Reduced Calorie Lager” portion of the competition. This bright and clean cerveza is brewed with orange blossom honey straight from orange groves south of the border, Amarillo hops and a twist of citrus. Our new, more sessionable spin on Mexican Honey is refreshingly crushable and brewed to take it easy, anytime, anywhere.
