Surly Releasing DAF Brut IPA Cans As Spring 2019 Seasonal

Surly Releasing DAF Brut IPA Cans As Spring 2019 SeasonalWe brought you the news, and now this from Surly:

The polar opposite of a hazy IPA, a “brut” IPA is effervescent as hell. They get the bejeezus hopped out of them, with none of the bitterness associated with a West Coast-style hop bomb. The fruit-forward aromatics sparkle and pop. And, they’re dry. Really, really dry. Not in an unpleasant way, and when you do it right, it practically grabs you by the shoulders to take another sip.

Surly did it right. DAF is our peak version of a brut IPA, and it’s our spring seasonal for 2019.

Featuring enormous flavor and aromatics from Southern Hemisphere hops and a shot of Citra dry-hopping, DAF harnesses the same brewing science that gives Surly favorites like Frisson and Rosé their bright, champagne-style finish. We harnessed it a lot. In the world of brut IPAs, DAF is the one that goes to eleven.

ABV: 7%

Hops: Vic Secret, Citra (dry hopping)

Bitterness: Low

Pour: Light gold

DAF is available on draft and in six packs of 12 oz. cans to all Surly markets.

P.S. If you’re wondering what DAF stands for, it can mean anything you want it to mean. Some suggestions:

Drastic and Fantastic
Dazed and Fazed
Darlene and Frank
Danger. Action. Fame.
Descend Amidst Fire
Disco. Art. Funk.
Daggers and Fists (pictured)
Dive and Fire
Destroy All Frames
Damned and Frantic
Demons. Apparitions. Fred.
Dragons Aren’t Friends
Desire. Affection. Frenzy.

Or maybe we call it DAF because this beer is just dry as…

P.P.S. If you want to try the opposite of a brut IPA, check back in February.
