Magic Hat Gets Last Laugh with New Double IPA

Magic Hat Gets Last Laugh with New Double IPAWe brought you a peek back in March, and now this from Magic Hat:

Laughing Stock Silences Naysayers with Heady Hop Goodness
South Burlington, VT – Magic Hat has announced it will be dropping a big ol’ delicious double on keyboard warriors, beer snobs and name-droppers, thereby getting the last laugh, the upper hand, and regaining the hop high ground. Laughing Stock is a brand- new Double IPA expected to slake thirsts on a year-round basis starting this summer.

Silencing the Critics One Sip at a Time

Laughing Stock is the result of many months of toiling and boiling, first on Magic Hat’s small-batch pilot system and then on its 150-barrel setup. This beer isn’t looking to simply join the too-long DIPA lineup but rather to set a new category standard, earning Magic Hat its rightful headlining role once again. For the Magic Hat team, Laughing Stock serves as a reminder that years of dedication, a sharp focus on quality, and a concerted effort to be weird at least once a day yield next-level results.

“We’re tired of being overlooked,” said head brewer, Chris Rockwood. “We’ve been creating delicious beers from day one, but Laughing Stock is truly something special, and it’s ready for its big-stage debut. Great recipes take time, and we refused to
compromise or cut corners when we set out to create a new modern DIPA, so we hope beer lovers everywhere will sit back, relax, and enjoy this showstopper.”

Laughing Stock is a big, juicy Double IPA with mouthwatering hop notes of grapefruit, mango and papaya. It demands respect with an ABV of 8.2%, and it won’t stand for any brewing shenanigans.

A Guffawing Great Beer Making Its Way to Laugh Holes Everywhere
On July 20, Laughing Stock will debut at Magic Hat’s Artifactory in South Burlington, VT, before heading to all points north, east, south and west. This free, open-to-the-public
event will feature live music from OSABA, a free, limited-edition poster of Laughing Stock artwork to the first 50 people through the door, and the unveiling of a massive mural of the featured can artwork. The Laughing Stock label was designed by Vermont artist Shaun Boyce. Boyce is a Magic Hat graphic design alumnus who has shown his unique work throughout Vermont and has several times been a participant in Magic Hat’s annual live art competition, Wall to Canvas.
